More light = more colour more food = more growth more food and more light = more growth and more colour, just what you want

Mmmmm..ok chum...I've done what you suggested I've moved it right up top on my frag rack...let's see what happens.......!!
Most of the stuff I've read say that acans don't really get much food from light ,it's prefers meaty snacks (oooo er!!) and that the colour can be lost if it gets too much light. But then ..I've lost my colour already

I've found with acans the amount and colour of the light spectrum can make a huge difference to what colour the flesh develops. But as you say it's the feeding that makes them grow HUGE!!!

I've always found rainbow acans, well most Acans come to that but especially rainbow ones get better colour in low light,in high light mine seemed to go dull and washed out
Acans are funny in some places in my tank they expanded huge but in another area in the tank with what I thought was similar light and flow they never fully expanded
Just a case of trial and error in my experience to find the sweet spot

I have found the total opposite, They prefer low light mine didn't like leds either. Rainbows turned red or orange losing the rainbow of colour, Id suggest low light and food

Thinking, back. I've been refering to when I went from 3 T8's to 4 T5's over a 2 foot tank. I know they dont like strong focused/direct light, which is what your LED's may be giving them. Perhaps that could be the problem. I did also find when I dosed with amino acids, the colours on all my corals improved.
